The following is a lsit of steps in order to setup an Azure Account.

Azure Account Creation Steps

Step 1: Visit the Azure Website

Step 2: Click on "Start Free"

  • On the Azure homepage, click on the "Start Free" button. This will take you to the Azure free account setup page.

Step 3: Sign in or Create a Microsoft Account

  • If you already have a Microsoft account (e.g., an Outlook or Hotmail account), sign in with your credentials.

  • If you don't have a Microsoft account, click on "Create one!" to create a new account. Follow the prompts to set up your account, including providing your email address, creating a password, and verifying your identity.

Step 4: Verify Your Identity

  • To prevent fraud, Microsoft will ask you to verify your identity by providing a phone number. Choose to receive a verification code via SMS or an automated call.

  • Enter the verification code sent to your phone.

Step 5: Provide Billing Information

  • Even though you're signing up for a free account, Microsoft requires a credit card or debit card to verify your identity. Your card will not be charged unless you exceed the free tier limits.

  • Enter your billing information, including your card number, expiration date, and CVV.

Step 6: Agree to the Terms and Conditions

  • Review the Microsoft Azure subscription agreement and the offer details.

  • Check the box to agree to the terms and conditions.

  • Click "Sign up" to complete the process.

Step 7: Set Up Your Profile

  • Once your account is created, you’ll be taken to the Azure portal. Here, you can set up your profile by providing details like your name, company, and preferences.

  • Complete the profile setup as guided.

Step 8: Explore the Azure Portal

  • You are now logged into the Azure portal. Take some time to explore the interface. The main dashboard gives you access to various Azure services, billing information, and support.

  • Familiarize yourself with key sections like "Dashboard," "All services," and "Cost Management + Billing."

Step 9: Start Using Azure Services

  • You can start creating and managing Azure resources. For instance, you can create a new virtual machine by clicking on "Create a resource" and following the prompts.

  • Azure provides a variety of services including Compute, Networking, Storage, Databases, and AI + Machine Learning.

Step 10: Monitor Your Usage and Costs

  • Throughout your free trial, you can monitor your usage and costs from the "Cost Management + Billing" section to ensure you stay within the free tier limits.

  • Azure provides detailed billing information and usage analytics to help you manage your resources effectively.
